- Blue: Taught by Azula, Blue fire has greater concussive force, and can ceal greater damage, as well as being effective against other styles of bending. An overall improvement.

- White: A technique first taught by the Bayushi family, only learnable through one of them, or through learning from the ancient scrolls. In return for losing the ability to harm people, the White fire destroys all metal of Terrestrial origin. In order to harm Black Steel weapons or armour, one must focus, and strike physically in a flurry of fire.
